I am LOADED

If you don’t mind spending more, and want to enjoy the elite nightlife of Montreal. Here are my suggestions to visit high end places to have a night of your life:

✓ La Voûte

About establishment:

In Montreal’s first skyscraper, the vault of the old Royal Bank opens the door of its safe and turns into a mysterious and magical place. La Voûte reinvents itself into a sophisticated club and is the result of a collaboration of talents lead by the creative feeling of the place. Located in the heart of Old Montreal, La Voûte nightclub has an elegant space.

What to expect:

La voute is suggested if your group consist of people with age 25 and more. They do not have any cover charges but drinks are on an expensive end (C$12 per beer). They have a good collection of a variety of alcohol to choose from. The staff is warm and welcoming. The music is chic and loud. However, the crowd is mixture of people from ages 20 – 30 years. It suggested to reach there latest by 11:30pm during weekends as it gets busy during Fridays and Saturdays.

How to reach:

Metro is a preferred option if you don’t want to spend on a taxi or you don’t have a car. Nearest metro station is Square Victoria OACI (orange line).

✓ École Privée

What to expect:

You might wonder why this club is in this category, the reason is they apply taxes on the price listed on the menu. However, many clubs don’t do that they charge you whatever the price is listed on the menu. It is not a club with huge place but, music and crowd are nice. The best way to enjoy this place is to get drunk and dance without caring about the space. They have a different policy for pricing, you can arrive early and pay the 10$ cover, and don’t need to buy bottles, but once the space allotted for general admission is over, it’s basically 1 bottle per 4 people at the bar. Tables have a spending minimum that ranges from 1k – 2k + tax + tip, depending on the night and the time of year.

How to reach:

Nearest metro station is Saint-Laurent (Green line) followed by a 7 min walk (550m).

Opening timings:

Thursday: 10pm – 3am

Friday: 10pm – 3am

Saturday: 10pm – 3am

They do not have any cover charges but they have bottle service only after 11pm. They have good quality food which is expensive, a salmon tataki (10 pcs) is C$20 plus taxes. ✓ BAR: Big in Japan

About Establishment:

Big in Japan is a famous restaurant chain that recently closed in Montreal. The owner bought a small place and started a bar after which he ran out of money. He didn’t had money to even paint the red (now grey) entrance door of the bar. However, people made story about it that it is a hidden bar and the owner doesn’t want it to be as popular as his restaurant.

What to expect:

The place is a small speakeasy bar with 50 covers. It is well-lit with candles all over the place. They serve delicious cocktail. If you buy a bottle of alcohol and you are unable to finish it. They will write your name on the bottle and it on the ceiling and you have 1 year of time to finish it.

    1. Yes, La Voute is one of the best nigh clubs in Montreal. If you visit late i.e, 1am or later, you might have to wait outside the club for about 30mins to get in.
I hope the information will help you in exploring the best of Montreal.
